Piney Point Village

Piney Point Village

With the epicenter of Houston slowly emerging to the west of downtown, Piney Point Village offers accessibility to Memorial City, the inner loop, and downtown, while at the same time offering serene seclusion from busy city life, with gracious pine and oak trees, hiking and biking trails, cul-de-sacs, and quiet streets.

Settled by German farmers over 170 years ago, the community of Piney Point Village began as a small stop on the Texas Western Railroad, greeting visitors from nearby Houston. Located just west of 610 and south of Interstate 10, Piney Point Village belongs to a collection of upscale residential communities in West Houston known as the Memorial Villages. With a population of approximately 3,500 residents composed of high level executives and professionals, Piney Point Village is one of the wealthiest locations in Texas, based upon its per capita income. With close proximity to downtown, exclusive shopping, and award winning Spring Branch schools, Piney Point Village is a highly desirable neighborhood.

With median home sales of $1 Million, the neighborhood consists of approximately 1,282 homes in close proximity to several public and private schools. Most of Piney Point is north of Buffalo Bayou, which is the boundary of Spring Branch Independent School District. The portion of the neighborhood extending south of Buffalo Bayou is encompassed by the Houston Independent School District. The elementary school serving the majority of Piney Point Village is Memorial Drive Elementary School. Memorial Drive students feed into Spring Branch Middle School, and for high school, attend Memorial High. Those students residing in the HISD portion of Piney Point attend Emerson Elementary, Paul Revere Middle School, and Lee High School. Additionally, these HISD-zoned students have the option of attending Lamar High School or Westside High School. Piney Point is also home to exclusive private schools, including The Kinkaid School, Saint Francis Episcopal Day School, St. Cecelia School, and Duschene Academy.

The seat of government for Piney Point is located at 7676 Woodway Drive. The Memorial Villages Police Department serves Piney Point with 24 hour a day/7 days per week marked patrol car coverage. The Village Fire Department utilizes the latest fire technology equipment and highly trained personnel, thereby earning the department a “Level 2” from the Insurance Service Organization (ISO), which reduces home insurance premiums considerably.
